sidewaysing

This whole site is giving me weird Live Journal vibes from my teen years. I'm kind of hoping I can use this place for fanfic and nice writing, of the sort that I don't do a lot of these days. idk. I have spent a lot of time around people who are intensely political and writing political fiction, which is a tiny sub genre, and the people there have been kind of getting on my nerves recently. There's a lot of good people, but a lot of smug people too. I kind of want to see what more broad and accessible forms of writing is like than the "endlessly rewriting the 2015 election" stuff that I've always done.

I don't really know what to tell you more broadly than that. MY dad died of COVID (I think, it was unclear) in December. I'm in a weird place now I'm starting to think of that. But I'm also not. I've been writing a story about climate change for a very long time that's kind of kitchen-sinky queer romance spread over the course of most of the 21st century. I'm generally happy and I hope to remain that way.
